Allis Chalmers D15 Series II vs Allis Chalmers K-O

Verdict: Allis Chalmers D15 Series II vs Allis Chalmers K-O

The Allis Chalmers D15 Series II and the Allis Chalmers K-O are both tractors — here is how they stack up on the figures that matter. Allis Chalmers K-O leads on rated power with 50 hp against 46 hp. Allis Chalmers D15 Series II is the lighter machine (4,025 kg vs 5,216 kg), which helps on soft ground and transport, while the heavier model carries more ballast for traction-limited draft work. Allis Chalmers D15 Series II is the newer design (1960 vs 1934). In short: choose the Allis Chalmers K-O for outright pulling power, or the Allis Chalmers D15 Series II if a tighter budget and lighter footprint matter more. The shuttle transmission is controlled using the gear shift lever and the shuttle control lever. The tractor must be stopped, and clutch used, to select one of four speeds with the gear shift. The shuttle control lever enables a shift between forward, reverse, or neutral without clutching. A PTO could be ordered on the industrial D15 with the shuttle, but it ran at 875 RPMs.Reference
The three-speed transmission was used on early models, built during 1934.Reference
