Allis Chalmers D15 vs Allis Chalmers HD7

Verdict: Allis Chalmers D15 vs Allis Chalmers HD7

The Allis Chalmers D15 and the Allis Chalmers HD7 are both tractors — here is how they stack up on the figures that matter. Allis Chalmers HD7 leads on rated power with 45 hp against 40 hp. Allis Chalmers D15 is the lighter machine (3,985 kg vs 6,350 kg), which helps on soft ground and transport, while the heavier model carries more ballast for traction-limited draft work. Allis Chalmers D15 is the newer design (1960 vs 1940). In short: choose the Allis Chalmers HD7 for outright pulling power, or the Allis Chalmers D15 if a tighter budget and lighter footprint matter more. The shuttle transmission is controlled using the gear shift lever and the shuttle control lever. The tractor must be stopped, and clutch used, to select one of four speeds with the gear shift. The shuttle control lever enables a shift between forward, reverse, or neutral without clutching. A PTO could be ordered on the industrial D15 with the shuttle, but it ran at 875 RPMs.Reference
