Farmall 460 vs Farmall 544
Verdict: Farmall 460 vs Farmall 544
The Farmall 460 and the Farmall 544 are both tractors — here is how they stack up on the figures that matter. Farmall 544 leads on rated power with 53 hp against 49 hp. Farmall 460 is the lighter machine (5,835 kg vs 6,100 kg), which helps on soft ground and transport, while the heavier model carries more ballast for traction-limited draft work. Farmall (a part of International Harvester)Reference
The Torque Amplifier (TA) allows a clutchless shift-on-the-move underspeed for any gear. With the TA lever forward, the TA is disengaged and the transmission is in direct drive (DD) mode. To engage the TA, the lever should be pulled quickly and smoothly to the rear. The TA on the 460 will free-wheel, so it should be disengaged when going downhill or towing the tractor to start it.Reference
