Questions

I feel your history of Case IH is not entirely accurate. Rhe original Magnums were basically an IH tractor with a Cummins engine. My 7110 Magnum actually has IH stamped in the axle housings. This is a little known fact for most people. So case didn't entirely drop the IH tractors but incorporated then into the new Magnum tractor in 1987. Thank you for the email. That is just one sentence about what happened in 1985 when they closed Rock Island and merged model lines. For a detailed engineering history I would recommend "Red Tractors: 1958-2022" by Lee Klancher. It contains a full chapter on the creation of a new engineering department at Case International and the development of the Magnum.Reference
